As a mom of three, I’ve seen my fair share of baby products come and go. It’s been almost 15 years since I had a baby, but when my sister delivered her first just a month ago, I had to delve back into the world of onesies, bottle warmers, and carriers to figure out what the heck I was going to buy her, for not only her baby shower but essentials for her home – considering, I’m an expert right?
My kids are teenagers now, so the only tech I need to worry about is the annual iPhone upgrade (and don’t forget the AirPods for optimal TikTok viewing). There seems to be a lot of much higher-tech gear available now for babies too. For example, have you heard of this SNOO thing? It’s unbelievable. “The SNOO uses sensors to detect when a baby is fussing or crying, and then automatically responds by rocking and playing white noise.” I WISH I’d had that when I had fussy babies.
But lets get back to basics. There are some things that will always remain old school and universal. Speaking as someone who managed to raise three babies without the safety of a SNOO, here are my Top Five New Baby Essentials.
